HYPE is an iOS app that tracks upcoming and newly released movies, TV shows, music and games. It is built and run by Daniel Fisher. This page explains exactly what the app collects, why, and how to get rid of it.
What we collect

What we do not collect
- No analytics or usage tracking. The app ships without any analytics or crash-reporting service.
- No advertising identifiers, and no tracking of you across other apps or websites.
- No location, contacts, photos, calendar or health data.
- No payment details. HYPE is free and has no purchases.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to sign you in, to keep your favourites in step across your devices, to send the alerts you asked for, and to show the media types you have chosen. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not build a profile of you.
Where your data is stored
Your account and favourites are stored on Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Cloud Storage and Cloud Messaging), which processes the data on our behalf under Google's terms. Nobody else has access.
Where the titles come from
Release dates, artwork, scores and store links are fetched from third-party sources — including TMDB, IGDB, AlbumOfTheYear, SteamGridDB, Apple, Spotify and YouTube. These are lookups about films, shows, albums and games. Your personal information is never sent to them.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: open your profile and choose Delete account. This removes your account, your favourites and your notification token. If you would rather we did it for you, email hypeappfeedback@gmail.com and we will action it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Delete the account and it goes. Backups holding the data are rotated out within 30 days.
Children
HYPE is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Email hypeappfeedback@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be flagged in the app.
